Anxiety & Emotional Wellbeing

There are times when life can feel difficult to manage. You may be worrying constantly, feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities or finding it hard to switch off, even when there is nothing immediate to deal with. Perhaps you feel anxious, emotionally drained, low in mood or simply not quite yourself.

Sometimes these feelings are connected to a particular event or change in life. At other times, it can be difficult to understand why things feel so hard. You might have spent a long time looking after others, coping with difficult circumstances or trying to keep everything going, leaving little room to consider how you are feeling.

Anxiety & Overthinking

Anxiety can show up in many different ways. You may find yourself constantly worrying, imagining the worst, overthinking conversations or feeling unable to relax. Sometimes it can affect your sleep, confidence, relationships and ability to enjoy everyday life.

You might feel that your mind never switches off, or that you are always anticipating what could go wrong. Counselling can help you explore what is happening beneath the anxiety and understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Stress, Burnout & Feeling Overwhelmed

When demands and responsibilities build up, it can become difficult to find space to breathe. You may feel exhausted, irritable, emotionally drained or as though you are running on empty.

Perhaps you are juggling work, family life, parenting or other responsibilities, and feel that you have to keep going regardless of how you feel. Counselling offers an opportunity to pause, recognise the impact this is having on you and explore what needs to change.

Grief, Caring & Life's Challenges

Life can bring experiences that challenge us emotionally, including bereavement, caring for someone with a long-term illness, living with chronic illness yourself or navigating significant changes.

You may be managing practical responsibilities while also carrying worry, sadness, frustration or uncertainty. It can be hard to find somewhere to put these feelings, particularly when you are used to being the person others rely on. Counselling can give you space to acknowledge your own experience.

Understanding Yourself & Moving Forward

Sometimes you may know that something doesn't feel right without being able to explain exactly what it is. You might feel stuck, disconnected from yourself or unsure what you need.

Counselling isn't about having all the answers or being told what to do. It is an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings, recognise what may be contributing to your difficulties and develop a better understanding of yourself. From there, you can begin to consider what moving forward might look like.

Whatever has brought you to this point, you don't have to wait until things become unbearable before seeking support. You are welcome to bring whatever feels important, even if it is difficult to explain. We can begin with where you are now and take things at a pace that feels right for you.
