You may have found yourself here because you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck.
Perhaps your mind never seems to switch off, you’re carrying more than feels manageable, or life has changed in ways you didn’t expect.
You might be functioning day to day, yet feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, or the sense of ease you once had.
Many of the people I work with come to counselling during periods of transition; when anxiety has crept in, confidence has dipped, or old ways of coping no longer work. You may be navigating relationship difficulties, burnout, grief, or a sense of loss around who you are or where your life is heading.
As a counsellor, I offer a calm, supportive space in a confidential room in Kingswinford, Dudley, where you can slow things down, speak openly, and begin to make sense of what’s been weighing on you.
My approach is compassionate and grounded, helping you feel heard and supported while gently working towards greater clarity, steadiness, and emotional wellbeing. However, I’m not a counsellor who just smiles, nods, and stays silent... I'll listen but I'll also offer thoughtful reflections, gentle challenge, and honest feedback where it feels helpful and appropriate.
I also bring my personality and warmth (and humour where appropriate) into the room too because therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff, clinical, or heavy all of the time.

Living with a chronic illness, or caring for someone who is unwell, can take a quiet but powerful emotional toll. You may be holding everything together for everyone else while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or close to burnout inside. Perhaps you’re constantly worrying, feeling guilty for wanting space, or exhausted from trying to stay strong for so long.
Counselling offers a space that is just for you; a place to pause, exhale, and make sense of what you’ve been carrying. Together, we’ll work gently and at your pace, exploring the emotional impact of caring or illness, processing grief and uncertainty, and finding small, sustainable ways to cope, regain steadiness, and reconnect with yourself... without any guilt!
How We Work Together
No two people experience caring or illness in the same way, and counselling is shaped around you. Some days you may simply want space to talk and be heard; other days you might want something more practical to help you manage anxiety, boundaries, or emotional fatigue.
My approach is integrative and person-centred, and may include:
You don’t have to be in crisis to seek counselling. Sometimes it’s simply about having a steady, compassionate space where you are held, too.

Think of counselling like a journey where you’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m alongside you as a supportive guide. You already know the roads you’ve travelled, but sometimes it helps to have someone who can notice the signs you’ve missed, ask the right questions at the crossroads, and remind you that you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement. It’s not about giving you quick fixes or advice, but about helping you understand yourself better, uncover patterns, and find your own way forward.
Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed by life changes, struggling with relationships or low mood, or navigating long-term stress or caring responsibilities, counselling gives you space to pause, reflect, and begin finding direction again.
What happens in a counselling session?
Each session is your time; there’s no right or wrong way to use it. Some days you might just need space to talk and be heard; other times, you may want to explore something more practical or focused. I’ll always work at your pace and regularly check in with you about what feels most helpful.
Do you give advice?
No; counselling isn’t about giving advice or telling you what to do. My role is to listen, understand, and help you make sense of what you’re feeling so you can find your own clarity and direction.
What if I don’t know what to talk about?
That’s completely okay. Many people feel unsure at first, especially if they’ve spent a long time focusing on everyone else’s needs. We’ll start wherever you are; sometimes that’s silence, sometimes it’s a story, a memory, or even a feeling you can’t quite name yet. Together, we’ll find a natural rhythm that feels safe and unforced.
Will counselling make me feel better right away?
Not always… and that’s okay. Counselling is a process, not a quick fix. Some sessions may even feel emotional or uncomfortable, but those moments often lead to growth and healing. Over time, many people notice subtle shifts: more self-awareness, calmer reactions, and a renewed sense of control.
How long will I need counselling?
That depends on your goals. Some people benefit from short-term work (6–8 sessions), while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll review this together as we go to make sure it still feels right for you.
What if I’m nervous about starting?
That’s completely normal, reaching out is often the hardest step. Our first session is simply about getting to know each other and seeing how we can work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; we’ll begin wherever you feel comfortable.
I am based in Kingswinford and see clients in person from across the Black Country and surrounding areas, including Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, Sandwell, Stourbridge, Halesowen, West Bromwich, and Birmingham. I also offer flexible online sessions via Zoom, as well as telephone support for those who prefer remote options.

Making the decision to begin counselling is a significant step - both emotionally and practically.
It's also an investment in yourself; a space to pause, reflect, and begin rebuilding from a place of clarity and strength.

I also offer concessions where applicable, please see below for details.
