Relationships can be deeply rewarding, but they can also experience difficult seasons. Sometimes, changes in life circumstances, infidelity, parenthood, pregnancy loss, infertility, illness or caring responsibilities can place unexpected pressure on a relationship and perhaps now you find yourselves having the same arguments, struggling to communicate, feeling emotionally distant or unsure how to reconnect.
I offer couples counselling and marriage counselling in Kingswinford and online, providing a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space for both partners to feel heard and understood - a supportive space to slow things down, explore what is happening between you and develop a better understanding of yourselves and one another. Whether you are experiencing ongoing difficulties or simply want to strengthen your relationship, you don't have to wait until things reach breaking point to seek support.
There isn't one particular reason couples come to counselling.
You might be experiencing:
Sometimes, you may simply recognise that something doesn't feel quite right between you.
I believe both partners deserve to feel heard, respected and understood.
My approach therefore is to create an environment where you can explore your experiences openly, without blame or judgement. I don't approach counselling with the intention of taking sides or deciding who is right or wrong. Instead, we look at the relationship as a whole, exploring the patterns, interactions and experiences that may be contributing to difficulties between you.
Both perspectives matter.
Every relationship is different, and our work will reflect your individual circumstances.
Areas we might explore include:
Choosing to begin couples counselling is an investment of time, thought and emotional energy in your relationship. It also requires a commitment from both people to engage in the process.
Sessions are £100 for a 60 minute session and the number of sessions will depend on your circumstances, what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. We can review this together as the work progresses, rather than committing to a predetermined number of sessions.
Getting started begins with getting in touch. You don't need to have everything worked out or know exactly what you want to say.
Once you make contact, we can arrange an initial conversation to discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you are hoping for and whether working together feels like the right fit. From there, we can consider the next steps together and how we might begin working collaboratively as a couple.
